What is the frequency difference between sound wave and light wave, can we use crystal oscillators to generate both waves?

Sound waves and light waves differ significantly in their frequencies and nature. Sound waves are mechanical waves that require a medium (like air, water, or solids) to travel and typically have frequencies in the range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which is the audible range for humans. Some sound waves can go beyond this range, such as infrasound (below 20 Hz) and ultrasound (above 20 kHz), but these are not audible to humans.

Light waves, on the other hand, are electromagnetic waves that do not require a medium to travel and have much higher frequencies, typically in the range of approximately 4x10^14 Hz to 8x10^14 Hz (which corresponds to visible light). The entire electromagnetic spectrum, which includes radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays, spans an even broader range of frequencies, far beyond what sound waves cover.

Crystal oscillators are electronic devices that use the mechanical resonance of vibrating crystal (usually quartz) to create an electrical signal with a precise frequency. They are typically used to generate frequencies in the range of kilohertz (kHz) to hundreds of megahertz (MHz), and in some cases, even gigahertz (GHz) through the use of overtone modes.

Given their frequency range, crystal oscillators can be used to generate frequencies that might be used in devices that produce sound waves (e.g., speakers, ultrasonic equipment) by converting electrical signals into mechanical vibrations. However, they cannot directly generate light waves, as the frequencies of visible light are many orders of magnitude higher than what crystal oscillators can produce. In the realm of light waves, different technologies are used, such as LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) and lasers, which rely on electronic and optical principles to generate light at the desired frequencies.
